Daisy-Doozy

Unfortunately at 1:00am on Wednesday 27th February one of our beloved Fancy Rats, Daisy, had to be put to sleep.

She had not been very well for a while, ever since she first got a mammary tumour. The tumour was successfully removed and luckily never returned.

For the next couple of months, Daisy and her cage-mate, Deirdre, were on and off antibiotics because one of them had blood in their urine. We figured that this was Daisy in the end, after they were separated briefly.
Gemma and I were happy with the way things had progressed when suddenly, late last year, Daisy had developed a little lump above her right eye.

This was bad. Continue reading

Games, Videos, Stuff and Things

Has it really been 28 days since my last blog? Wow.

After a LONG time, three years actually, I made a new video using clips I recorded from a video game. The game in question is Sniper Elite V2 and it showcases kills from a variety of levels using various weapons.

I have never been very skilled in making these videos. I don’t even have an Intro Card like most proper YouTubers do.

I do have another few videos in the works; Continue reading

My view on Gaming

Author’s Notes: I actually wrote this over a week because of work. My opinions and thoughts have not changed between the time I started and finish. Please remember that everything here is my opinion and and my views alone. I am not affiliated with any member of the press or anyone in the Video Games industry. Nothing here should be taken as fact unless there is a reference. Which there will not be. As it is all opinion.

As I awoke this morning, I kept telling myself I would get around to doing a game review today. What game it would be, I had no idea.
As I was being pelted by shower water, I kept thinking. Should it be my current favourite, a classic that will always have a place in my heart or a game that will always find it’s way back into my play-list?

This caused me to think about the amazing RPG’s by Bioware, Obsidian and Lucasarts; Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2. This in turn pushed my mind to thinking about Star Wars: The Old Republic, Bioware and EA’s lackluster MMO, and whether or not it’s first expansion pack had been released.
I just couldn’t decide on a game to review so as I lathered up the short black hair that resides on my head, the most wonderfully strange idea jumped at me;

“Why not review gaming in general?” Continue reading

Catch up for the past eleven days.

I do feel guilty for writing this at work, but what else am I to do while still awaiting Security Clearance besides simple admin tasks?

So what has happened since my First Post?

Had a four days off work.
Played some games.
Got a new TV.
Started a serious Dog Training regime.
Went to a 40th Birthday Party.

Got my Gold Star on Gizmodo.

So lets start on the with the four days off;
On the day I made my first post, I found out that the annual leave allowance at work reset on the 1st of January and sadly I only had 25 days available to book for the next twelve months. It doesn’t actually work as whole days, I got given 187.5 hours of annual leave.
When I told Gemma of this, she said I should book a week off at some point in the next few months to relax as our Christmas period of FAR from relaxing. So Monday rolled around and I asked to have the rest of the week off. It got approved and I was chuffed.
While I was at home during the day, all I did was play PC games. Mainly Fallout: New Vegas but also Dungeons of Dredmor, Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion, Spec Ops: The Line and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Continue reading

First Blog

Well this is it. The first real blog I have ever written. I have written many before during my college days and my SharePoint training but never a real one. I should write something profound.

I have nothing.

Truth be told, I’m not very good with social media or anything of the sort. A couple of years ago, I had Myspace for a while then gave it up because I rarely used it. I swore never to get a Facebook account but eventually did and again, never use it and now I swear never to get a twitter account. I probably will at some point. I have also never used Instagram.

Everything is good right now anyway. I have a lovely, amazing girlfriend, Gemma. I live in a nice, spacious Edwardian house. Only downside is that it is rented. I wish I had a mortgage and was a home owner but it is hard to build up credit and even save up for a deposit. I have wonderful pets; A Border Collie Dog, Ellie. A Moggy Cat, Sassy. Two Fancy Rats, Daisy and Deirdre and a Green Iguana, Sydney. I have a great family, who I see on occasion. My job as an Advanced Apprentice at Capgemini is brilliant.

All I can think of for now. If anyone actually get round to reading this and wants to ask anything else, just ask.

Regards,

Nicholas

P.S. If anyone knows how to stop snoring, short of surgery, let me know. I have tried everything.
